Hi,
The next BPO meeting is next Monday 2/1 at 7 pm at in the multi-purpose room. Given the impending state budget cuts (even more than originally anticipated), Superintendant Connie Hubbard and/or Assistant Superintendant Michael Brady will be at the meeting to discuss the impact the cuts will have on the district. Our new budget will have to be submitted in the upcoming two months. I strongly encourage you to attend to participate in the conversation.
Please let me know if you have items you wish to be included on the agenda.
Thanks,
Laura

IT’S TIME TO REGISTER FOR SPRING AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT!
We have loads of after-school enrichment (ASE) classes offered at Beach during the spring semester. It’s a great way to have fun, learn something new, make friends, and, of course, support Beach! And once again, BPO is pleased to extend its ASE program to Havens kindergartners and early readers. Please come join the fun!
Registration for spring semester ASE classes begins January 11th and ends January 21st. Many favorite classes from the fall are offered again for new and returning students. And we have new classes students are sure to love! For more information about ASE classes, please download the ASE spring semester brochure.
New On-line Registration! ASE has gone hi-tech! Register on-line starting Monday, January 11th at www.sportability.com/bpo. It’s fast, easy, convenient and green, and you will find out immediately if your child got into the class you selected. (Of course if you are unable to register on-line, you can still register for using the ASE registration form.) But hurry! Students are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis, and many classes sold out quickly last fall. All the more reason to register on-line!
If you have any questions about ASE, please contact Teresa Stricker at stricker_teresa@yahoo.com or 653-6562.

It’s almost Thanksgiving already – where did the fall go? The Giving Campaign is in full swing. Thanks to the many families who have already given. If you have not, please go to http://www.piedmontgivingcampaign.com/ and give what you can. The monies raised come right back to BPO to pay for our science teacher, technology program, library and more. Look for a “Beach Ball” participation barometer on the yard that will let us know how Beach is doing. Right now we are at 37%, and I know we can do better than that. Donations at any level are appreciated and our goal is 100% participation! No donation is too small and the website can let you pay by installments if you’d prefer.
Another way to help is to recollect the lawn signs to store them for next year (very green, indeed). If you have an hour to spare on Friday or Saturday, please contact me at laura_katter@yahoo.com and I’ll let you know how to help.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Laura
