Beach Goes Green – Recycling/Garbage Survey

November 30, 2007

The City Council is meeting this Monday to decide on the next waste management contract for Piedmont for the next 10 years. Current staff reports are favoring backyard service, which will be both more expensive and will limit the size of the recycling containers. Additional recycling options, for example, adding more items to can currently recycle (yogurt containers are an example) are not being given much discussion.

It’s Time Folks-Go Green at Home, Clean with Vinegar

November 28, 2007

Did you know that vinegar cleans everything?! Mix 1 part water to 1 part vinegar and… Voila! You are on your way to clean, green home. If you already have cleaning products, use them up. When you are done, use one of the spray bottles and fill it up with the trusted “vinegar solution” and clean away.

Remember, keep that smile on while you clean you toilet bowl!
For that use 100% vinegar, but for your floors, windows, counter
tops, bathtup, sink and stovetop the vinegar solution is a winner.
Don’t worry about your home smelling like vinegar, the odor
dissipates once it dries. Note - never use vinegar on marble.

Tip – extra green points - use newspaper to clean
windows. Those caught cleaning green – we have our sources -
will win a free bottle of extra large vinegar. Now, go…go now
and get your vinegar game on!
