It is great to see so many new and familiar faces back at school. I would like to take this time to welcome everyone and give them an idea of what to expect from BPO this year. This first day of school is always so exciting for teachers, kids and parents.
New to this year are Hot Lunch and the Green Committee. Revolution Foods was selected last spring by Beach parents to provide a healthy and safe lunch alternative for the school on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for $4.50 per meal. And, you have the convenience of online ordering. Please contact Kimberly Moses or one or our Hot Lunch Committee members for more information or if you wish to help out. You can also check out www.revfoods.com.
The Green Committee is also new and has hit the ground running since last spring. Much is going on in this area from educating our kids, to rethinking the way things are done from the city and district levels all the way down to the school level. Contact Margaret Ovenden or Bob Houser to get onboard this already popular program.
There are lots of ways to get involved at Beach. This organization cannot exist without you and best of all, everything that you do come back to the school and kids. The trick is to do what you like to do. If you like to bake, become part of the Hospitality/Welcoming/Appreciation group. If you like to garden, get in touch with the Grounds and Garden group. If green is your thing, then the Green Committee is the ticket for you. If arts and crafts are your passion, then look into getting together with either, Meet the Masters, Harvest Festival, Paints or Spring Fling. Anyone of them can use your help. If you are musical, consider Chimes. If these don’t interest you, come speak to me, maybe we can start something new that can interest you along with others. None of these are year-around jobs. For more information I can be reached at 428-4944 or jloduca@pacbell.net. Thanks for being part of Beach and have a wonderful and productive year.
