It’s Cool to Walk to School!
Wednesday, October 22nd is Piedmont Walk-to-School Day
All three Piedmont elementary schools will be participating. Let’s show some Beach spirit and see how many of our kids and families can walk, bike, scooter, or carpool to school that day! So dust off those sneakers and start talking to your neighbors and the families of classmates about walking together that day! October 22nd is a minimum day, so early and late readers all start school at 8:30 ( Language School kids at 8:00).
Please Complete a Parent Survey on Walking/Biking to School
Walk-to-School Day is part of a longer-term effort on the part of the BPO’s Green Committee to promote alternatives to driving to school. You can help this effort tremendously by filling out a short parent survey about walking/biking to school. We’re trying to understand what are the specific things that make walking (or biking, scootering, carpooling) difficult for Beach families, and what are the things that promote it. Your responses will be kept confidential and neither your name nor your child’s name will be associated with any results. Go to http://beachparents.org/green/ (the Goes Green tab at the top of this page) and click on the survey link. The survey is short and takes about 5 minutes to complete.
Thanks for participating!
